I can't confirm this as a regression. So please Mr. M:
* Please attach a screen shot or picture of the problem.
* Don't forget to mention how to reproduce the problem (where to click etc.)
* Which version exactly works and which is broken (you mention rc1 then rc2)

I can't show you the screen shot, because when I take it, the black square cursor doesn't appear in it.(there's no mouse cursor in the shot at all) To reproduce, just open the EndNote X1 and move the mouse to the main window pane where all the references are displayed. The mouse cursor turns into back square when you move into that portion of the screen.
This bug has appeared after I have upgraded to 1.2-rc1

This reminds me cursor bug 22897 wich also appeard in 1.2-rc and is still present.
Do you use some native libraries? (don't have it here, guess: winecfg -> tab libraries)

Don't do that. Native ole is not supported
