Bug ID: 50199 Summary: Keyboard failure for cursor keys under vDosPlus since Ubuntu 18 Product: Wine Version: unspecified Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: dos Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: hheinscher@gmail.com Distribution: ---
In Ubuntu Mate 16 I am running vDosPlus with FoxPro under Wine. All keys go well - even cursor keys. But since Ubuntu 18 and 20 the cursor keys are no longer available (no reaction). What causes this behavior?

Does this have a free demo/download available?

--- Comment #2 from Zebediah Figura z.figura12@gmail.com --- I can confirm this bug is present with wine-6.0rc2. To reproduce, all that is needed is to download and install the given program, run vdosplus.exe, type a character or two, and press the left key. On Windows, this moves the cursor left; on Wine, nothing happens. This is with Arch + kwin 5.20.4, in case it's an X11-related bug.
I don't know if this is actually a regression, though. It'd be nice if the reporter can name a wine version in which the problem is not present.
Also adding the "source" tag as there appears to be source code available: http://vdosplus.org/

--- Comment #3 from hansonman hheinscher@gmail.com --- Under Ubuntu Mate 16.04 my wine has version 1:1.6.2-0ubuntu14.2 Under Ubuntu Mate 20.04 the wine-stable has version 3.0.1ubuntu1 I have also installed wine64 with version 5.0-3ubuntu1 What is surprising: Calling a windows program like notepad under vDosPlus gives back control to the cursor keys. So it is not wine that causes the problem - rather vDosPlus does'nt catch the signals.

--- Comment #4 from Zebediah Figura z.figura12@gmail.com --- I can reproduce this bug even with wine 1.6.2 (which was a fun time to build). I doubt this is a Wine regression.
