--- Comment #2 from Dmitry Timoshkov dmitry@codeweavers.com 2008-10-15 05:07:23 --- CVS/GIT tag is deprecated, please use what 'wine --version' provides.

--- Comment #3 from Andrew Charles Hurst a.hurst@shef.ac.uk 2008-10-15 07:40:42 --- Sorry, version 1.1.6 - check. Note: if testing the download version, it will crash during startup, since the intro video plays straight away.

--- Comment #4 from Alexander Dorofeyev alexd4@inbox.lv 2008-10-15 09:22:07 --- Are you sure you have the intel codecs properly installed? For one thing, it got to be present in the registry. I know from Thief 1 / System Shock 2 experience that some crashes were caused by old intel codec installer (that is run during game setup) crashing silently, so codecs end up not being installed and the game can't play movies without them and dies(I suspect it will also crash on windows in such case and this is correct behavior by wine). I fixed this particular problem in Thief 1 by using a modern version of intel codec from the internet.

--- Comment #5 from Andrew Charles Hurst a.hurst@shef.ac.uk 2008-10-15 09:41:43 --- I'm pretty sure the demo includes the codec, and so its crash is representative. It certainly worked ok with videos, around wine-1.1.0, and has stopped. I'll try a full reinstall, watching out for indeo installer crash.
