Summary: Wine crashes on StarCraft 2 installer Product: Wine Version: unspecified Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: stephen@stephenashelton.com
Created an attachment (id=26708) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=26708) output of "wine Intsaller.exe" with wine v1.1.40
I've tried installing sc2 with several versions of wine (the earliest of which is 1.12, the latest of which is 1.40) and each fails with output similar to (attached: installer_output.txt)
This crash occurs before any GUI appears.
The same installer ran fine on my XP virtual machine, and i've been able to watch replays as others have by copying the installed files over.

wineserver crashed, please enable coredumps (ulimit -c unlimited) and restart.
Please do what it asks for, and provide a backtrace of the crash.

--- Comment #2 from Stephen Shelton stephen@stephenashelton.com 2010-03-09 12:56:06 --- I apologize, but I am having a very difficult time finding information on core dumps in wine (searching google for that could not be more worthless.) Could you point me in the right direction?

--- Comment #3 from Juan Lang juan_lang@yahoo.com 2010-03-09 12:58:02 --- Wine already told you all you need to know: from a shell, type: ulimit -c unlimited then run the installer as before.

--- Comment #4 from Stephen Shelton stephen@stephenashelton.com 2010-03-09 13:02:10 --- my ulimit was already unlimited...

--- Comment #5 from Stephen Shelton stephen@stephenashelton.com 2010-03-09 13:34:35 --- Please close the bug, I've got things working. The attached output was not with the correct version of wine, or perhaps I had another instance of the installer running.
