Indesign crashes on launch. Program begins to launch though the initial splash screen is garbled. It crashes around the time when indesign reports 'starting up service registry'.

Probably fixed in 1.1.13 (just released).

No mention was made of a wineserver crash in either (though I have seen it in the terminal dump when some other programs crash). Are you referring to some other log information I'm not aware of, and if so how do I get it?

i have winetricks dcom98 installed. but after dcom98 installation, objects not displaceable. override rpcrt4 ole32 oleaut32 dlls builtin in winecfg.

well, the installer is blocked by bug 18070 since a long time.
Anyway, with the workaround (dummy thread for initializing the MTA, needed for custom action) it installs and starts fine here.
