What executable are you trying to run? What is your Wine version? Similar
problem was fixed quite a while ago, see bug 37354.

Imagine going to a doctor, telling him "it hurts" (only these two words,
without being more specific).
Do you expect him to use some magic glass ball to figure out what's wrong with

sorry guys, you're right - voilà some additional infos:

exe not starting is a german tax-calculating program: SSEPortable.exe

wine is configured to emulate Win 7

OS is ubuntu mate 16.04 64bit

wine is standard version (1.6.2)

Is this still a problem in current wine (3.x). If so, please provide more info:

Console output and if it crashes, the backtrace of the crash.

No news from the OP since 2 years. Using a very old wine version. Reported
working in appdb
