Confirming. I have a few of older Shockwave installer, bundled with some game's CD which crash during installation.

To make this bugreport somewhat useful, let re-work this report to curent version 12.1.9.160 which is available for download. When current version will be fixed, i can happily report older versions too.

Version 12 does not crash under wine-1.7.48-74-gb3fe96a, but hungs during installation.

Installer freezes in phase: SwDnld.exe /regserver

Console without debug channels:

err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x7bcddf2c "../../../wine_git_build/dlls/ntdll/loader.c: loader_section" wait timed out in thread 002d, blocked by 0026, retrying (60 sec)

I dont' see this issue. It bypasses /regserver and claims succefully installed. I didnt install the browser when it asked for it.

$ sha1sum -b Shockwave_Installer_v12.2.1.171.exe c91dd8fbe9fb783aeae9efe2bde5f0c1da7b017b *Shockwave_Installer_v12.2.1.171.exe

I still get "...err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection...", but it looks like, that you need to be quick, to successfully install this package.

When the installer opens new pop-up window asking for installation of "Google Chrome", wait for a while (15 sec) and then uncheck "Include Google Chrome..." followed by "Next >". I reliably get the deadlock.

If i'm "fast" with unchecking the Google & "Next", then it installs successfully.

Your sha1sum doesnt match the one focht used. Actually there is confirmation 2 times with same sha1sum and yours differs.
