Bug ID: 40707 Summary: TMUnitedForever crashes on starting game Product: Wine-staging Version: 1.9.11 Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: steveamigauk@yahoo.co.uk CC: erich.e.hoover@wine-staging.com, michael@fds-team.de, sebastian@fds-team.de Distribution: ---
Created attachment 54592 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=54592 Console output
TMUnitedForever loads up fine, goes through the menu, connects to the (any) server, but hangs as soon as gameplay loads (or at the "Press a key to start" screen if you wait).
I haven't had much luck with regression testing previously, so hoping someone can confirm/help in this regard.
Full concole output attached.
1.9.10 works.

--- Comment #1 from Béla Gyebrószki gyebro69@gmail.com --- First you need to install the game in a clean wineprefix: according to the log this is either a broken wineprefix or you have various native components installed. The game needs only native d3dx9_30.dll to start properly and I can't reproduce the problem in 1.9.11 or 1.9.11 (Staging).

--- Comment #2 from steveamigauk@yahoo.co.uk --- OK, I'll give it a do, but after the last bug (1.9.8 IIRC) I did a clean prefix and it was missing sone graphical elements. Mind you, I may have missed the d3d install. I'll report back.
The reason for extra components is that it shares with Cinema4D (and has probably had a bunch of other stuff in there at some point, but a clean custom prefix would be nicer).

--- Comment #3 from steveamigauk@yahoo.co.uk --- OK, working. It wasn't in a shared prefix, but I deleted (Doh!) and started again. Now working. I honestly thought I was deleting an obsolete prefix, but c'est la vie. It's working.
You can close. Thank you.
