I installed the steam version on a fresh wineprefix I am using 1.5.30

Game runs really nice not much to complain a bit slow but ok 
online game play works but only problem I have with this is that guns do not
render

Probably a duplicate of bug #27145. Can you try a patch from that bug to see if
it helps?

This bug might be fixed since Stefan added patch that got committed that fixed
few similar regression bugs.

One of them being the mentioned fear bug.

The game is free to play on Steam:

Weapons are visible in Wine 1.7.49 and newer.
This was fixed by commit 34d8b987c493544f640bf5ca0a5a6cbb3d3f4e7b.
