You can see the problem almost everywhere: - when you write an email, and click on . "address" . "delivery options" . "tools/out of office" . "send and file" . even when you cancel an email, the dialog won't have the close button - Using the file/database/open menu - On the login screen - etc...
OK, in every modal I checked, there was always a "Cancel" button that allowed me to close the windows. But you only have these buttons because the designer of the database decided to. It's very easy to create a modal window without them... and that's what we did for one of our home made database. Without that, I would have probably never see it.
So, i agree. That's not a common case...
