Selecting Help -> Detect and Repair does nothing.
I'm not sure what it is supposed to do, but I'm guessing nothing is probably not it.

it then prompts for the original CD.
Cancelling the operation (without inserting the CD) produces this msgbox error:
Error 1706. No valid source code could be found for product Adobe Acrobat 6.0.1 Professional. The Windows Installer cannot continue.
Inserting the CD produces the following results:
The CD runs the Acrobat installer, just like when I first installed the program.
I'm guessing this is an msi issue. I'll run it in wine with debug flags +msi,+msidb.

Confirming with Wine 1.1.2 and Acrobat Reader 6.01, on the console I get:

Still the same in in Wine 1.1.12
The Installer saved an "ModifyPath" entry in the registry for the Product. Calling that command works as expected for the Adobe Reader 6: wine MsiExec.exe /I{AC76BA86-7AD7-1033-7B44-A00000000001}

It did, please test the version of Wine that included the previous fix.

not possible. In wine 1.1.22, Acrobat Pro 6 would not install.

Install with 1.1.40, test detect and repair with 1.1.22.
I installed Acrobat Pro 6 in 1.1.40. Then I uninstalled the wine1.2 package, and downloaded and installed the 1.1.22 .deb from winehq.
Testing using this configuration, I confirm that this bug exists as originally described: clicking Help -> Detect and Repair doesn't do anything.
As per Jeff's comment (#12), I am reopening this bug.

I tested using a full, legit copy of Acrobat Standard 7.
