This causes it to not use any DirectX provided z-buffers (I think - I'm guessing based on output of "Debug.txt" Melty Blood writes to the working directory).
However, changing this does not make the game work. It seems to find that 16bit z-buffer format, but the characters are still not visible.
Melty Blood - the Original, as opposed to ReACT - displays the background without the characters (instead of the white screen). It also doesn't spew the CreateSurface failed with hr = 8876017c lines.
