I was intending on using this patchset to get legacy games like Red Alert2
running again using the EA-app instead of patching Origin.

Probably need to make another bug for this but when attempting to launch legacy
games EA-app launches EAGEP.exe this eels to be used to again administrator
permissions, this simply fails so was holding this patchset could resolve the
issue. Though this didn’t work with an already installed copy of EA-app ether.

Hrm, it seems to install fine for me with upstream Wine and just that patch set
installed? The application fails to then launch and render, probably due to
some d3d bug (I see invalid GLSL shader errors), but it seems to have installed
itself well enough.
