Bug ID: 35150 Summary: Battle.net App can't open drop-down for language/realm list Product: Wine Version: 1.7.8 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: wine@JonnyJD.net Classification: Unclassified
What I do: I am starting the Battle.net App Beta in order to install the Diablo III 2.0.1 PTR. So I switch to the Diablo 3 Tab and click on the arrows to change the "language/realm" to use above the "install" button.
What happens: Clicking the arrows doesn't do anything.
What happens on Windows (should happen): Trying the same on Windows this opens a drop-down (going up actually) with the realm selection.
There is a Workaround: I can click on the realm ("American" per default) and then use the up/down arrow on the keyboard to switch through the realms.
Log: Whenever I try to click on these arrows my terminal log fills with lots (dozens) of these messages (no others in between): fixme:uniscribe:ScriptShapeOpenType Ranges not supported yet
I am running wine git version from 2013-12-15 and applied the patch in http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33947 to not make the program crash after 15 seconds. The problem also appears without the patch, though.

--- Comment #3 from Johannes Dewender wine@JonnyJD.net --- The default is "Americas", not American. So this is the realm, not the language.

What happens: Clicking the arrows doesn't do anything.
I don't think that's entirely correct, the impression I have is that the dropdown is opened but not drawn, or perhaps drawn behind the main window. Moving the mouse pointer down to where the dropdown is supposed to be makes it show up for me.

--- Comment #5 from Johannes Dewender wine@JonnyJD.net --- Tried that and it seem you are mostly correct. The drop-down doesn't and shouldn't show below, but when I click on the arrows and then move the mouse *up* to where the "drop-down" should be, it shows. I can also select things in the drop-down.
Still the drop-down doesn't do what it should do.
There are 2 workarounds available though.
note: I use "drop-down" here because I never heard anybody say "drop-up" for a drop-down going upwards.

--- Comment #7 from Nikolay Sivov bunglehead@gmail.com --- It feels like this is set to a wrong component. Did you try with native usp10?

--- Comment #8 from Johannes Dewender wine@JonnyJD.net --- The override only works if the library is also available in the system, right? Just adding the override still gives that fixme message (so the wine code, including these fixmes is still used?). It also doesn't change anything.
However, since I have now patched my wine for another bug (semi-related, 33947) I can see these news boxes and that "fixme" message seems to appear when the mouse "touches" these.
So it appears that "fixme" is completely unrelated :-/ (again).
Yes, that library was not about showing drop-downs anyways, but I thought it might get called, leading to problems when displaying the text in the drop-down.
