There are some effects missing when running under Wine, that are present running on Windows.
I believe most of them are related to bloom and HDR, so they are easy to miss if you don't have a Windows version to compare.
From my comment in the APPDB:
"There are still numerous graphical glitches that are not easily spotted without a side-by-side comparison with the client running on windows.
Things like missing bloom effects, missing engine exaust animations, cloak and uncloak effects. Laser beams look different (and much better) when running on windows. "
I have taken some screenshots of EVE running on both operating systems so that side-by-side comparisons can be made.
There are some wrong animation effects, but I am not sure how to capture that.
Video card; NVidia Geforce 8800 GT Graphics settings; HDR, Bloom (high), shadows off

Adding a screenshot showing lasers on windows. Notice the "halo" around the beans, absent in Wine.
Of course, this affects other weapons too, but I am not sure that flooding this bug report with screenshots is going to be helpful.
I've also noticed that the two stargate shots were taken in different solar systems, so the background is different, as is some lighting. However, the feature of interest is the "lights" in the stargate.
