Summary: Baldur's Gate 2 : Installation regression Product: Wine Version: 1.1.4 Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: xvachon@gmail.com
Created an attachment (id=15877) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=15877) log
I get a component transfer error when I try to install the game on Wine 1.1.4. Previously on wine 1.1.0 the game installed flawlessly.
Component: CD3 recommended File Group: CD3 recommended File: D:\CD3\DataCD3CreAn.bif Error: Not ready
I have attached a log. I also get a similar error when I try to install Gothic 3 for example. I wonder if this affects multiple games.

--- Comment #2 from Lei Zhang thestig@google.com 2008-09-16 16:18:58 --- Can you at least narrow it down to between Wine 1.1.x and 1.1.y, where y = x + 1 ?
I can try installing BG2 when I get home.

I believe that the last time I installed it and that it worked, I had one of the release candidates for wine 1.0. I do not remember which one however.
I have not been able to do the regression tests because of issues between wine and Ubuntu 64 bit. For some weird reason it cannot build the dependencies. I would need some assistance with that too.

I did see that guide. Here is the error I get however
xavier@Xavier:~$ sudo apt-get build-dep wine [sudo] password for xavier: Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done E: Build-dependencies for wine could not be satisfied.
I tried to reinstall wine and to redownload the git, but I get the same error. Of course, without that I cannot make the manual links mentioned in the step after. Do you have a suggestion which could solve the problem? It seems that regression testing is one of the project's major needs, and I would be more than willing to attempt to try to debug some stuff.

'On Debian you may need to add some more, or run the build-dep command after adding the APT Repository.'
