Bug #: 31058 Summary: Winetricks won't load after clean wineprefix Product: Wine Version: 1.5.7 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: miguelsouto.sc@gmail.com Classification: Unclassified
Created attachment 40770 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=40770 command "winetricks -v" console output
Hi!
I've made a full clean up of the wine prefix using winetricks. After a succesfull clean up, when i tried to run Wine once again, it ask me to install wine-gecko but it crashes when it was installing it. after that when i try to use winetricks is didn't loads anymore. I have tried by using a clean ".wine" folder but nothing happens. After several tries with different work arounds, i've decided to delete Wine and install it again with "sudo aptitude --purge-unused purge" to make sure everything was fully removed. When i proceed to install Wine again, everything looks fine during the installation, but winetricks still unable to load. I've also find that in the "drive C:" there's only the "Windows" folder in there, and the "Program Files" folder is missing with the others default folders and files too. By running "winecfg" shows that there's no audio driver installed too, and i don't know everything looks messed up. I have removed every trace of wine and install it again several times, but those problems persist, specially with winetricks and also with wine-gecko, that it seems to be installed but Wine seems to don't "recognize" them.
I'll attach a console output of what the command line "winetricks -v" shows.

--- Comment #1 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2012-06-28 09:01:31 CDT --- This matches the symptoms in http://code.google.com/p/winetricks/issues/detail?id=90 and should probably be discussed there until it's narrowed down more. It seems to be specific to 64 bit systems.

--- Comment #2 from Miguel miguelsouto.sc@gmail.com 2012-06-28 09:10:17 CDT --- Hi Dan thanks for the quick answer.
I've already tried what they said in that website, the more strange is that im not using a 64bit system. Im Using Linux Mint 13 (32 bits) right now. I've make the bug report in here, because i have others problems as i said before, that are not only related with winetricks, but also with others things in Wine.
