--- Comment #3 from Gijs Vermeulen gijsvrm@gmail.com --- Please read https://wiki.winehq.org/Bugs#How_to_report before reporting a bug.
I tested the latest version of Pegasus Mail with wine-7.4 and it started just fine for me. Judging by your log it seems to be font related. There are also a plethora of font errors and warnings in your log.
What version of Pegasus Mail did you test? Does it work with wine-7.4 for you?

--- Comment #4 from Jonas winehq@jonass.user.lysator.liu.se --- I wrote this report after testing Pegasus Mail 4.8. (But the same or similar issues have been reported by many Pegasus users for a long time with several versions).
Your result with Wine 7.4 is good. I will comment again when I have had the opportunity to test that.

--- Comment #9 from Gijs Vermeulen gijsvrm@gmail.com --- I wasn't able to reproduce this issue and as you've mentioned yourself, it doesn't happen on every system. I'll reset the status to NEW, but it would be good if someone that uses one of the affected systems tests this.

ok - debian 11 bullseye wine 8 pegasus 4.73 loaded with IE renderer errors.
pegasus 4.8 would not even start, crashed at login
followed the helpful suggestion posted in appdb.winehq.org by Michael Setzer II
uninstalled ierenderer using unins000.exe deleted the ierenderer folder with remaining file.
pegasus 4.8 started but upon opening an html email it crashed
created C:/TEMP and as described in Bearhtml-readme.txt also created
:\pmail\mail\username\bearhtml.log and made them writeable
now Pegasus 4.8 loads and opens htnl email without problems

--- Comment #11 from Jonas winehq@jonass.user.lysator.liu.se --- Created attachment 76343 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=76343 a few lines from a session with WINEDEBUG=all
Did some more testing on this. Used xubuntu 22.04.4.
Tried winetricks ie8 ie8_tls12 allfonts d3drm dxtrans vkd3d dxvk renderer=no3d fontfix gdiplus d3dx10 May have lost a few errors but it still crashes.
Looking at the attached log I notice some lines mentioning text and fonts. Could there be some problem with rendering a text with a font that are only installed on some systems?
