Test on Ubuntu 10.10 with Wine 1.3.14
The selection box tool is not working. When trying to clic and drag, no box appears AND the display freeze. The application seems working but the display is not refresh anymore.
So the application can't be used

Not for me. I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 amd64 with the nvidia driver 270.29, you too ?

I'm running 32bit and NVidia driver 260.19.06 - How did you get that NVidia driver? I should try the same version to see if the issue is to do with 32/64 bit or the driver.
I use this PPA to update my nvidia driver : ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates

But is it a bug in Wine or in the nvidia driver ? (I need this driver on my Acer Aspire 9420 to have a working 3D acceleration)

I can't do that just because on my system the display "freeze" just before the login dialog with the 260.19.06 driver
and if I try the xserver nv driver, Sketchup shows up an error : ChoosePixelFormat

The selection box and the normal selection (by clicking in the object) are both working but I always need to rotate the camera to see the selection because the display doesn't refresh, and it doesn't seem to be a video driver problem because it happens in all the 5 different PCs and notebooks that I installed sketchup 8.
They have Nvidia and Intel graphics and the drivers and i also tried updating the drivers with no results
NOTE: I also used PlayOnLinux and just tried SketchUp 8 on Wine 1.3.7 and everything worked perfectly well with the selection, the display refreshes. Then I tried 1.4 and 1.5 and the selection once again didn't show till I rotate the camera
