Summary: Guilty Gear X2 #Reload crashes on startup Product: Wine Version: 1.3.5 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: twilightinzero@gmail.com
Created an attachment (id=31371) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=31371) Log of crash
I upgraded from Wine 1.3.4 to Wine 1.3.5 recently, and when I tried to play Guilty Gear X2 #Reload, it crashed when it tried to play the intro movies. Before, it would just fail to play them and skip them.
This can be worked around by checking "Movie off" in the config, and it won't try to play any movies at all.

--- Comment #1 from Andrew Nguyen arethusa26@gmail.com 2010-10-18 20:21:15 CDT --- Please attach a backtrace with debug symbols installed. Did this work previously in wine-1.3.4? If so, please see http://wiki.winehq.org/RegressionTesting for instructions.

--- Comment #2 from GyB gyebro69@gmail.com 2010-10-23 01:13:56 CDT --- According to the crash log this seems to be a dupe of #bug 24782. The issue is present for you since Wine-1.3.5, isn't it? Performing the regression test would be useful (I don't own the game). Does native quartz.dll solve the problem for you?

--- Comment #3 from GyB gyebro69@gmail.com 2011-10-24 11:53:22 CDT --- I have the GoG.com version of the game. It starts fine with Wine-1.3.31. Actually, I can reproduce the crash with the reported version (1.3.5) and the backtrace I got is similar to the one attached in comment #0. However, that problem went away a long time ago (1.3.10 is already good for me).
Please try the game again with a recent Wine version (1.3.31 or newer) and report back what you find. Also make sure that gstreamer and the necessary plugins are installed.
