winetricks ie7 works around it and lets me start the demo.

Interesting though, just clicking X to close the launcher will start the game!
But that's a separate bug..

The same problem with Wine-1.5.0 + Gecko 1.5 installed.

Still an issue in 1.7.18 and Gecko 2.24 installed, affecting games from the
