These winetricks allowed it to install and run for wine-10.11-217-g3c4cc9d04b6: dinput dinput8 directmusic dsound dswave directshow
Here are additional winetricks also installed for https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58493 (Gothic and Gothic II crash with Access Violation) which may be needed if the above don't resolve everything: dmband dmcompos dmime dmloader dmscript dmstyle dmsynth dmusic dmusic32
tm2.exe ran without issue as if directly from CD without install.
The installer warned about Windows 95 incompatibility which was ignored after which proceeding with install was successful without issues.
Launching tm2.exe from install location behaved identical to direct CD method described above.

Retesting this on a clean version wine-10.11-217-g3c4cc9d04b6 without any winetricks ran without crashing but seems to ignore keyboard input without the winetricks installed.
The clarify, the previous test was performed without winecfg -> (Graphics tab -> Emulate a virtual desktop) which plays in fullscreen and is difficult to get working in windowed mode.
Enabling winecfg -> (Graphics tab -> Emulate a virtual desktop) forces windowed mode but the FPS is sped up instead of playing normal speed.
