I think I've found another way to avoid this bug. If you completly disable sound by using "./Woe.exe -nosound" you don't get lockups. I currently think that this bug is somewhere in the wines dsound.dll. I ran the test program yesterday and it did not produce the error as expected but ran out of resources...
Interesting, I have for some reason stopped getting crashes altogether in the last 3/4 weeks, and the only thing I can think of that has changed was me switching to a different music player (from Audacious to Rythmbox). Unfortunately I can't test this to be certain because Audacious refuses to run at the moment (which is what prompted me to switch). But if it's sound-related that may certainly explain something (or maybe not, I don't really know). I'll see if I can get Audacious to run again and see if the makes WoW crash.

Daniel, you can't override ntdll.
You are right, sorry :P
I will investigate the sound issue, but I dont have any sound player you have. Im gonna uninstall all sound related software in my ubuntu.
