Does it crash on start or not? I've tried this (5.25) on wine-1.1.12-250-g601870a and it started fine. I'm even able to play an mp3 on it without any crashes. Could you please retest it, or be more specific to help reproduce a crash.

--- Comment #3 from billstei billstei@hbci.com 2009-01-07 20:15:28 --- Installed Goldwave to fresh .wine directory using Wine 1.1.12-250 and it is working okay. Maybe a corrupted environment, not sure.

--- Comment #4 from Jeff Zaroyko jeffz@jeffz.name 2009-01-07 23:49:15 --- There were some regressions introduced in 1.1.12, could have been one of those.

--- Comment #5 from billstei billstei@hbci.com 2009-01-08 10:30:09 --- FWIW, as a final comment, this may have been due to a problem with the new gecko 0.9.0, which I put into /usr/share/wine/gecko as a cab file, but now have removed from there, and the new .wine environment downloaded/installed it locally. Goldwave uses it, and I was getting quite a few error messages from more than one program related to it, that seem to be gone now also.

--- Comment #6 from billstei billstei@hbci.com 2009-01-08 11:38:50 --- Re-tested with Wine 1.1.12-312 and newly created (with -312) .wine and if I choose to Cancel the gecko download on a fresh Goldwave install then Goldwave runs okay, but if I choose to Install gecko, then it crashes and always crashes from then on. I think my (false) success with 1.1.12-250 was because once the reg codes for Goldwave are entered, the program does not open the "help" window on startup (which nags you to buy the program), therefore avoiding a gecko crash.
As a side note, I am using Ubuntu Intrepid with ALSA only (PulseAudio completely removed), yet winecfg shows no ALSA audio driver option. Probably not related, but maybe.
Am reopening this bug.

--- Comment #7 from billstei billstei@hbci.com 2009-01-09 10:31:12 --- Created an attachment (id=18597) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=18597) Notepad gecko errors
In comment #5 above I mentioned other programs with gecko errors. With Wine 1.1.12-393 they have returned, and as an example I have attached a Notepad run. This may need to be filed as a separate new bug.

--- Comment #8 from billstei billstei@hbci.com 2009-01-09 10:35:19 --- I also see now that subsequent Notepad runs do not show the errors, just the first time (I assume before the .wine configuration update).

--- Comment #9 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2009-07-21 14:05:28 --- Is this still an issue in current (1.1.26 or newer) wine?

--- Comment #10 from billstei billstei@hbci.com 2009-07-21 23:34:40 --- Ubuntu 9.04 and Wine 1.1.26 (Scott Ritchie build), with Goldwave 5.52 produces no crashing. FWIW my Wine builds cause Goldwave to crash (not tested with 1.1.26). Not sure what the difference is between mine and Scott R. build.

I completely removed Goldwave and went back and removed the folder, then I did a brand new install and I am getting this. I am running 64-bit Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04 and I am getting Wine from the http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt repository.
