When launching this software
(http://chessok.com/download/Training/PeshkaSetup.exe) using the most recent
version of Wine on OSX (WS7Wine1.3.27 in my case, but it occurs with other
flavors, including CodeWeavers, and has occurred with every Wine version I've
tried since 1.2.x), I get an error dialog "HardWare identification: "Exception:
Read error in Processes Info".

I cannot be sure if the functionality of the software is compromised in any
way: it appears to work properly, but I do occasionally see errors when
dragging objects out of the application frame (not easily reproducible, and no
idea if it's related).

Sorry for the bad bug report. Hopefully someone who is more Wine-savvy can
reproduce the issue and figure out the guilty component.

registry entry

Confirming. Looks like it stumbles over a missing registry entry. @reporter of
bug: could you try if adding this registry entry fixes the issue for you as
well? (do 'regedit enum.reg')

Maybe only creating
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Disk\Enum] is enough,
didn't try that yet, i just exported this regixtrykey from my VirtualBox

Thank you. Your registry fix worked.

I only needed to create the
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Disk\Enum] registry key
and the error went away. Are there potential side effect of having the empty
entry?

On my Parallels Windows 7/64 install, the 0 entry is:
IDE\DiskVirtual__HDD_[0]________________________FWR10003\5&2df434f&0&0.0.0

Anyhow, thanks again. Addl info would be great, just for my understanding.

To be honest: I haven't got a clue... From a debuglog i only saw that it's
trying to open this key, and the error message followed immedialtely after
that. Maybe we should create this key by default on wine, but i'm not really
sure; Anyone else who knows more what this key means could maybe comment on
this
