WoW 7.1 fails to log into game as of Wine 2.0 RC1 using Wine Staging and Wine Devel from the PPAs. Game starts, but a disconnect is forced and login fails. Downgrading to 1.9.24 devel builds fixes issue.

--- Comment #2 from winetest@luukku.com --- I just tested this. I can't reproduce. I am using the free trial. I don't know if it makes a difference.
Wow is the latest version, called legion.
wine 2.0.rc3.

--- Comment #3 from Ryan Davis iconoclasmandheresy@gmail.com --- So AFAIK, this only happens on the official wine-devel and wine-staging PPAs, which are only up to RC2, so it a) May be fixed in RC 3 or b) May not be a problem in your particular build c) May only be in the Win-on-Win64 (WoW64) builds of WINE if you are on a 32bit system. The Debian/Ubuntu build process is very difficult and when I was building Wine by hand (because there were no WoW64 binaries,) it was easy to miss a step and screw it up.
The following steps /should/ reproduce the error: On Ubuntu 16.4 (Xenial LTE) add wine-staging PPA from instructions at winehq Install Battle.net client Install WoW Try and log in.
If that fails to reproduce, try adding a mobile authenticator to your account, that might be the bit that causes issues. If any logs or whatever I can gather will help, let me know.
I know that rolling back to 1.9.24 devel build fixes this.

--- Comment #4 from Ryan Davis iconoclasmandheresy@gmail.com --- Just tested the RC3 build. Issue persists.

--- Comment #5 from winetest@luukku.com --- I have self build wine and staging ppa and I am also fetching staging patches for testing purposes.

--- Comment #6 from Ryan Davis iconoclasmandheresy@gmail.com --- As of the Staging RC5 build, this seems to have been corrected.

--- Comment #7 from winetest@luukku.com --- (In reply to Ryan Davis from comment #6)
As of the Staging RC5 build, this seems to have been corrected.
Since you cant reproduce anymore bug should be marked worksforme/fixed. I couldnt reproduce this at the time you created this bug. I really don't know what could have suddenly fixed it since wine didnt change that much between the versions.

What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |FIXED
--- Comment #8 from Ryan Davis iconoclasmandheresy@gmail.com --- There have been, in the past, issues introduced in the build process that are not present in the WINE sources proper, since the Ubuntu/Mint/Debian binaries are actually difficult to build correctly. It involves creating a strange nested distribution container structure because Ubuntu doesn't allow 32 and 64 bit development libraries to coexist on the same machine. If those nested containers have library versions that are out of synch or some step is not done exactly right, bugs can be introduced /in the build/ rather than in the source. I can reproduce the issue by installing RC3 again.
Marking as resolved/fixed. If it returns, I'll reopen.

--- Comment #9 from Matteo Bruni matteo.mystral@gmail.com --- Given that it was a build rather than a Wine issue, resolving INVALID instead.
