Summary: Guild Wars: Maximizing the game from desktop panel needs lot of time Product: Wine Version: 1.3.16 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: sworddragon2@aol.com
If I minimize Guild Wars to the desktop panel and want to recover it the game needs ~6 seconds for this action. The same happens if I change the game from fullscreen mode to window mode or the resolution. I'm using a GeForce 8600 GT with nvidia-current 270.30-0ubuntu3.

--- Comment #1 from sworddragon2@aol.com 2011-03-21 03:28:44 CDT --- I forgot to say that this long time happens only if an area is loaded. This means the character must loged in somewhere in the game.

--- Comment #2 from sworddragon2@aol.com 2012-01-16 13:39:37 CST --- I have tested this again with Wine 1.3.37 and all is working fine. The time is ~as low as I remember it on Windows.

--- Comment #5 from sworddragon2@aol.com 2012-02-12 12:37:04 CST --- Curiously the time is now very long again. This happened later on Wine 1.3.37 and Wine 1.4 RC2 is affected too. Maybe this is not a wine bug? Or was it just random that the time was normal for this short time?

--- Comment #6 from sworddragon2@aol.com 2012-02-26 12:47:16 CST --- The problem is solved again. It is now running fine for some days even after a few reboots. Maybe this was a problem in another component like the X-Server.

--- Comment #8 from sworddragon2@aol.com 2012-02-26 14:00:21 CST --- I can confirm now after tests that this was a driver bug. Updating to the NVIDIA driver 295.20 solves the problem.
