We tested only the excel application but the problem may extend to the other
components of MSOffice 2007. The spreadsheets open very slowly. In one of our
tests excel took almost 5 minutes to open a 4MB spreadsheet. Returning to wine
1.2 solved the problem completely.

Until now I could only download the git version and compile it. Testing a fresh
instalation of MSOffice 2007 under the newly compiled version (1.3.0 - just the
same version as that instaled through Ubuntu's Software Center) I've got the
same results. I could not perform the other tests proposed in that page though
because of time constraints. I hope someone else do find out the origin of this
performance issue.

Sorry, misread this, not a dupe. This works in 1.2, the other bug did not.

Still need the regression test, though.

Confirming. Excel 2003 suffers this bug too. These are the opening times for a
600 KB excel file for an intel atom CPU.

wine 1.1.34   3 seconds
wine 1.2      6 seconds
wine 1.3.1   34 seconds

The bug seems fixed on git. My load time is 3 seconds for the 600 KB excel
file.
