Bug ID: 42968 Summary: Selected Wine version in Preferences is not shown Product: WineHQ Apps Database Version: unspecified Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: appdb-unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: faalagorn@gmail.com Distribution: ---
When choosing a Wine version in preferences and clicking "Save Preferences" button in https://appdb.winehq.org/preferences.php the selected version still appears blank. Not sure if the actual version value is being remembered and if it's still used somewhere, so I have no way to confirm if it's being set and it's only visual issue or not.
Also, while at it, it may be worth pointing out that the version ordering for 2.0.1 and 1.8.7 is out of place. They are thrown in between the current 2.2-2.7 versions.

I can't reproduce this; the Wine version is visible when I save it in Firefox. What browser are you using?

The versions are correctly listed in the order they were released.

--- Comment #2 from faalagorn@gmail.com --- I'm currently using Chromium version 58. I'm normally using ublock Origin plugin, but I disabled it before to assure it's not causing problems and the bug still persists. If needed, I can try testing it under Firefox and/or a different computer, to see if the issue appears there, but it may be indeed related to the browser.

--- Comment #3 from Rosanne DiMesio dimesio@earthlink.net --- I can't reproduce it in Chromium 58, either. I also tested Vivaldi and Konqueror, and both of those are fine, too.

First of all, thank you for checking!. I checked it on my slower netbook that is also running Chrome, and while I experienced the same issue, I noticed the 2.7 version appeared briefly for split second, something I didn't notice on my (faster) desktop PC. It turned out the culprit was LastPass browser plugin for Chrome auto-filling the forms. I actually managed to nail down the autofill form it remembered at one point being sWineRelease. Upon removing the form autofill, the issue no longer persist.
Thank you again for reply, the issue can be marked as not a bug as the issue was clearly my side, at least maybe it will help someone else experiencing the same issue :).

--- Comment #5 from faalagorn@gmail.com --- Forgot to add, the reason the field was empty, was that LastPass remembered the now-removed value of 2.0-rc5 of Wine, and was most likely trying (and failing) to set this non-existing value, that's why I didn't notice the issue initially.
