When trying to start Settlers VI: Rise of an Empire, I am greeted with a
message box saying "Insufficient privileges: you must be administrator when you
run this application for the first time."  I am not quite sure how it checks
for having those, it appears to communicate with a driver related to the Tages
copyprotection just before presenting this error.

The game version is 1.5.

Error dialog displayed on line 18728.  The stuff starting on line 18675 looks
like driver communication to me.

Settlers VI uses Tages copy protection.  No-CD patch (easily googleable)
doesn't seem to help.  See also bug #10264.

when the game start, it try to install tage drivers with administrator
privilege. so, i start the game with crack.

I try to start the game by bypassing the update, by put the files BBLua51.dll
and cld.dll in bin directory and start the game from file Settlers6.exe. First
the game ask to install some drivers (i think that is TAGES). But after I use a
patch from

I only have problem with 
Insufficient privileges: you must be administrator when you run this
application for the first time.
I have no idea what to do.

Yes, this still happens on wine 1.1.13.  There is a small change in behaviour
though.  1.1.13 does not seem to like spaces on the executable filename.  If I
try to run an executable named "Settlers6 cracked.exe" wine runs "Settlers6"
instead.  Changing the space to a dot works.

Still an issue in 1.1.16. Using ubuntu 8.10. Running from the wine menu yields
no results. going to the install directory and running "playsettlers4.exe"
yields a patch (already applied) and then the admin rights message. Attempted
to apply the no-cd crack, however, i'm not able to locate the directories on my
DVD it says to copy... As a test, i will install on my windows desktop, and see
if that creates the directories. perhaps wine is not installing correctly? all
i have in the install directory intially is "playsettlers4.exe" and a "Bases"
directory.
