Summary: Audiosurf - mouse does not work properly Product: Wine Version: 1.3.19 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: turbolad995@hotmail.co.uk
If you open Steam in Wine and try playing Audiosurf, you will find the mouse does not work or you can only click on an option when the mouse is away from the option, rather than hovering on top of it.

--- Comment #1 from David turbolad995@hotmail.co.uk 2011-05-10 06:22:34 CDT --- Audiosurf otherwise works very well in Wine. This bug shows up immediately when you play Audiosurf in Wine - you can't click on buttons like the "OK" button unless the mouse pointer is AWAY from the button rather than ON the button.
Please can others test this and confirm. It's a pain having to boot up Windows to play this great game.

--- Comment #2 from GyB gyebro69@gmail.com 2011-05-10 12:50:01 CDT --- Sounds like bug #22906: does it help if you run Audiosurf in fullscreen mode? You have to edit config.ini and change the line "runfullscreen: false" to "runfullscreen: true" (as per the AppDb page).

The "runfullscreen: true" works. :) You can now click ON the buttons when you change the config.ini as described above. But... The only problem is: if you come out of fullscreen, you can't click ON the buttons. This bug still exists as you cannot click ON the buttons unless you tell Audiosurf to go full screen.
I don't know if this is a duplicate of bug #22906?
The mouse does feel more sensitive during gameplay.

--- Comment #4 from David turbolad995@hotmail.co.uk 2011-05-12 07:50:11 CDT --- Having played Audiosurf in Windows 7, I can definitely say the mouse is much more sensitive during gameplay (fullscreen) with Wine compared to Windows. Obviously something to do with the mouse and Wine?

--- Comment #5 from David turbolad995@hotmail.co.uk 2011-06-19 14:15:18 CDT --- Here's a video demonstrating this bug. Watch the mouse pointer carefully: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAgd7wq_A1U

--- Comment #6 from David turbolad995@hotmail.co.uk 2011-06-29 05:31:26 CDT --- On closer inspection I can see what's happening: when you run Audiosurf in WINDOWS, the mouse pointer can be SLIGHTLY away from each button and still allow the user to click on the button, but the user can still click the buttons if the mouse pointer is directly over them.
When WINE tries to reproduce this behaviour, the mouse ends up too far away from the buttons and the user CAN'T click on the buttons when the mouse pointer is directly on them.

This does not happen if you have the game set in FULLSCREEN.

--- Comment #11 from Sam Edwards CFSworks@gmail.com 2013-04-11 16:06:16 CDT --- This is how bug #13872 manifests itself when the GL output is scaled to the full window size. That bug has been fixed by commit 33d31a3547b51eddbf9fe835285577541b91c05c. If the latest development snapshot of Wine fixes it for you, this can be closed as a duplicate.

I'm afraid this fix has only made the mouse control in-game way too fast! :(

Forgot to mention that the fast mouse is in fact filed under bug 28074

But this bug itself is indeed fixed? You can now click directly on the buttons to select them?
If so, this bug can be closed and we can move discussion to bug #28074. :)
