Summary: Panzer General II doesn't display background Product: Wine Version: 0.9.55. Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: mdemolins@gmail.com
I use Fedora 8 and wine 0.9.55, but I get the bug with older versions too.
A description of the bug can be found here : http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-users/2007-March/026538.html
Note : 1. This bug seems to be exactly the same I got running Panzer General under Windows XP, without having activated the "Win 95/98 compatibility mode" of the desktop shortcut. But even if I say to Wine to emulate Win 95 or 98, it fails. 2. This bug is also reproductible under Windows 95/98 if you don't have the original game CD in your drive when launching the game. 3. I have the legal CD (I bought it)

On this screen shot, we can't see the map, unless combat units are normally displayed.

--- Comment #2 from Mars mdemolins@gmail.com 2008-02-22 07:24:59 --- I really think tha this bug is NOT $graphical bug, because the bug is the same that under Win XP without compatibility or with Win 95/98 with no CD in the drive. I think this is a bug of the CD detection by the soft.

--- Comment #4 from Mars mdemolins@gmail.com 2008-02-23 12:20:09 --- So could you explain me why Wine can't make this soft run fine ? Whit previous versions of Wine, it has been reported to work...
Even using Win95 or 98 compatibility mode, I can't get a good result...
