Could you run with WINEDEBUG=+relay,+seh,+tid,+d3d wine Blood2.exe &>/tmp/log
and attach the bzipped2 file /tmp/log to this bug?

I had a look at the debug log but nothing jumped out as an obvious cause. Is there a demo that exhibits the same bug? P.S. I remember to have played this game in wine a very long time ago, IRC

I don't have a demo. I purchased the game through GOG.com as a downloadable.

Why would I need a demo though? I have the full version.

--- Comment #14 from GyB gyebro69@gmail.com 2010-10-23 00:30:23 CDT --- To Silent-Hunter: where in that particular level of the game have you experienced the crash? Right after the level loaded or when you tried to enter the museum through that locked gate on your left? If the second one, then I suspect this is a game bug rather than a Wine one. They asked about a demo because not everyone has the full game; if the demo shares the same issue, others (with more insight into Wine) can help, too.
P.s.: the demo doesn't contain that particular level of the game. Mine is the GOG version, too. Since this was the first time I played the game, to check the issue I downloaded a custom saved game from the net to get to that level. Undoubtedly, there was a crash on that level when I tried to enter the museum, using that saved game. However, when I completed the previous levels normally and got to that point the crash didn't occur. So I suspect the saved game was not compatible with the GOG version of the game.

It crashes when I try to enter the water behind where the Gideon hologram was. As well as other places in the museum.

Okay, then I can't reproduce the issue you have: not a single crash during the entire level here, using a Nvidia card. Just to be sure, try the game in a clean .wine environment.

A clean .wine environment?
By renaming/removing your current .wine directory and recreate a new one by running winecfg. See http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#head-cf92baf0d9ee0ef112a680b45ac21805caaf9c0a
