--- Comment #1 from Bruno Jesus 00cpxxx@gmail.com --- Hi, wine 1.6.2 is no longer supported. Please update to the latest development version (1.9.15 currently) or at least 1.8.3.
Read https://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#How_can_I_get_a_debugging_log_.28a.k.a._terminal... and attach the log.
I tried downloading from Visionic website but the file has a password so I can't extract it.

--- Comment #2 from Jim jd50i@hotmail.com --- Thank you. I will see about updating. I thought I had the latest since this is my first time using wine and I downloaded it about a week ago through Ubuntu.
If you do want to play with the program the ZIP password is PowerMaxPRO, to run the program the ID is visonic and the password is powermax

--- Comment #3 from Bruno Jesus 00cpxxx@gmail.com --- The problem is that you need to install Visual Basic 6 runtime before launching the application. To do so install winetricks and do "winetricks -q vb6run" in the console. After that the program won't complain anymore.
The application will then try to find something in the computer serial ports. This may require further wine configuration, please read https://www.winehq.org/docs/wineusr-guide/misc-things-to-configure
