--- Comment #2 from super_man@post.com --- That error could be because something wrong with your gpu drivers. I have seen that error with native Linux steam too. Does other games work via wine? Has this worked before?

--- Comment #3 from cactipus mitch9654@gmail.com --- Created bug 39542: https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39542
I didn't test any other games via wine, and this was my first install of a game on this machine - so, Rollercoaster Tycoon did not use to run on my machine or anything.
However, changing from using `nouveau` to using `nvidia` allowed RCT to launch - but it got somewhere else, thus bug report 39542.

--- Comment #4 from cactipus mitch9654@gmail.com --- I changed my graphics driver from `nouveau` to `nvidia`, then changed back. Upon starting the game, I no longer get the "X error of failed request". The game actually starts - resolution changes, an instance of the game appears in GNOME's "alt-tab" list. However, I'm still looking at my GNOME desktop - the game doesn't actually appear.
At any rate, I'm no longer dealing with this bug, and I can't even reproduce it myself. It exists, but it's a little sneaky.
NOTE: I mentioned in the bug description that I tested with one monitor. I actually have three, but I just went into my display settings and disabled everything except the one. Perhaps that had something to do with it?

--- Comment #6 from Bruno Jesus 00cpxxx@gmail.com --- Is this still an issue in wine 1.9.16 or newer?

--- Comment #7 from cactipus mitch9654@gmail.com --- The error is no longer displayed, and the game runs fine (unless there's multiple monitors, but that's a problem for another ticket ;)
Thanks guys!
