Summary: Joypad not recognised, occasional unhandled exception Product: Wine Version: 0.9.1. Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: wine-directx-dinput AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: hatta@softhome.net
I have a playstation (PSX) to USB converter that shows up as /dev/input/event1 This is recognised and used by zsnes, fceu, and epsxe (everything I've tried it with) However, using wine (0.9.1 from your unofficial debian repositories) the joystick does nothing. This is with GTA3.
I was advised to run wine with WINEDEBUG=+dinput. On doing so, Gta3 would immediately change resolutions, and then sit for a long time. It continues to display the desktop, but grabs the mouse.(if I move the mouse onto window decorations at this point, it has an unhandled exception, but I suspect that's a different bug) At some point between 30 seconds and never the game starts pretty much as normally, but still without joystick support.
I can send you one of these trace files, they're quite large but compress very nicely. Let me know if I can give you any more information.
