Thanks for your help, how would I apply this patch?
See https://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#Compiling_Wine, or wait for 4.3 to be released (assuming the patch is accepted by then).

--- Comment #6 from Bart bart-wa@tushmail.com --- Although we're more than a year further, I hope that I still have something useful for other users who also get this bug on their screen.
I had this problem when I tried to install iTunes 12.9.0.167 64-bit with WINE Development 4.2-4. Halfway the installation it crashed.
However, things worked as a jiffy when I did the same with WINE Stable 4.0-2.
It's May 2020 and both versions are the ones that we can get from the Debian Software Catalog. Other users who run into this problem may also want to try version 4.0-2. ;-)
PS: - I made a few screen copies and I saved the back trace also, but I think they're no longer needed. If they're still useful, let me know - When running Debian 10 with the LXDE interface the Software Catalog and WINE can be found here : Start -> Preferences -> Software -> Utilities - I am running Debian Linux 10, 64-bit and I'm using the LXDE interface.

well, the regression was introduced in Wine 4.2. Having an older Wine release (Wine 4.0) working is not that uncommon. That's why it's called a regression ;-)
FYI WineHQ provides stable, development and staging packages for each Wine release:
