Summary: Browse C: should use xdg-open ~/.wine/dosdevices/c: Product: Wine Version: 1.1.1 Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: A.Pirard@ulg.ac.be
The launcher named "Browse C:\ Drive" executes the command xdg-open ~/.wine/drive_c The command should be xdg-open ~/.wine/dosdevices/c: correctly displaying the c: directory wherever it is
I see that Ubuntu 8.10 (Wine 1.0.1) uses ~/.wine/dosdevices/c: but installing 1.1.x returned it to ~/.wine/drive_c
See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wine/+bug/223989 for intricacies, including a good reason for redirecting c:

FOI : are you saying that the c: link contained in ~/.wine/dosdevices/ and then probably dosdevices/ itself does/do not exist in a plain vanilla Wine? (easier to notice what exists than what shouldn't :-( )
Knowing that is of utmost importance indeed.

No, they do. The 'Browse C: drive', however, is not part of vanilla wine, Ubuntu does that.
