Command & Conquer Renegade is unplayably slow, yet everything works. According to most of the comments in the AppDB it worked before.
This could be related to my video card, which is an ATI Radeon HD 2900, however I doubt it since I am able to play many other new 3D games without any problems.

--- Comment #2 from H. Verbeet hverbeet@gmail.com 2008-12-08 09:39:42 --- It does appear to be a fair bit slower than with eg. 1.1.8, so this is probably a regression. Would you mind doing a regression test? (I can do that myself as well, but it'll probably take longer for me to get around to it.)

--- Comment #3 from Nathan Shearer mail@nathanshearer.com 2008-12-08 23:33:19 --- I installed the game and it is unplayably slow on the following versions:
1.1.10 1.1.9 1.1.8 1.1.7 I stopped at this point, maybe I'll test versions <= 1.1.6 tomorrow.
What's strange is I'm able to play Command & Conquer 3 with all settings maxed out at 2560x1600 (less the water effects and other gfx that cause rendering issues). C&C3 uses a newer version of the Renegade engine, so if C&C3 works then Renegade should also work.

--- Comment #4 from xadium xadium@email.it 2009-01-11 06:59:48 --- My Renegade works perfectly, using the CD version (it shows v1.002 BG-660 01/28/2002 16:57:02 on the main menu).
It slows down painfully only after applying the game patch v1.037.
Tested on Ubuntu 8.10 with wine 1.0.1 (the version included in Ubuntu) and with wine 1.1.12.
I have a radeon x850xt with fglrx drivers version 2:8.543-0ubuntu4
