Tests show the problem is SHGetPathFromIDList should NULL-terminate the returned
path even on failure.  Patch sent:

There's a problem when you select the Desktop as the install location: the OK
button is still enabled, but pressing it says that the path '' isn't valid. 
That's a separate issue.
