The UI comes up and the progressbar goes up to 100% (application launching ...)
then it needs to be killed. The application was working fine for me, I m not
yet sure what caused it to fail now.

Version 1.4 is very old, please try with 1.6-rc2, the crash you got:

well, 1.4 is what my distro offers. Anyway in a  desperate move, I flushed my
wine dir (using winetricks) and reinstalled the app. Now it works again.
