Summary: winecfg: missing selection indication in open dialogue for existing directory Product: Wine Version: 1.1.2 Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P3 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: Markus.Elfring@web.de
The application "winecfg" opens a dialogue "Choose directory" (Verzeichnis auswählen) after the button "Search" (Durchsuchen) was pressed. I would appreciate a marking for a specific entry in the tree control that matches the value from the input field "Path" (Pfad). Would you like to provide a direct selection indication in this user interface?

I wonder why an entry is not marked in the tree control despite of the validity for the path that was entered before. It seems that only the beginning of the directory listing is always displayed instead of scrolling to the selected position.

I do not see a correction for this user interface issue in your software "Wine 1.3.29-4.1" on my openSUSE 11.4 system.

I think I misunderstood the bug. I think what you're saying is that if we have a mapped drive, say D:\ => /mnt/cdrom, choosing D:\ then 'browse' should automatically navigate to /mnt/cdrom?

Yes. - I expect such a behaviour for the directory tree view.
Does the corresponding selection (move of the focus to the chosen directory) happen in your test environment after the button "Search" was pressed?

No, I was mistaken, my apologies.

Do you find my expectation for the directory selection reasonable and acceptable?
