EasyToon is maybe the most efficient raster animation editor available on w32, and not yet anything similar exists nativelly on Linux.
I tried the version 1.9.9 beta 3 on Wine 1.2 (Ubuntu 10.10 beta 1, installed from the repository)
a screenshot shows the bug is http://img826.imageshack.us/img826/9849/easytoononwine.png , while these gdi patterns (from that horizontal 17 buttons) should have a more smooth progressive grayscale simulation, from black to white, like http://yfrog.com/4beasytoontonesp

Confirming. It happens in all the following version: * 1.0.1, 1.1.15, 1.1.25, 1.1.35, 1.1.40, 1.3.0, 1.3.3
so it probably never worked correctly.

Basically this is a paint application. After openened the last toolbar line will show a sequence of patterns, select the filled rectangle tool in the line above (see the pressed button in the images) and then play with the patterns by painting rectangles in the screen just like in http://img830.imageshack.us/img830/2338/easytoon17tones.png (GOOD) http://img826.imageshack.us/img826/9849/easytoononwine.png (BAD)

I can't tell a difference here :/ (1.2 versus 1.6-rc4).
