When I try to run the halo demo I get white boxes over the areas that should
say campaign, etc. I can not click on any of them. I tried using the keyboard,
but that was unsuccessful. I attempted safe mode, but that still did not work.
I even installed directx 9.0 march 2008 distribution. The halo demo still had
the white boxes covering the menu items after that.

This is a blog showing how to install directx 9.0c march 2008 redistributable,
which I thought would help, but it did not seem to. It mentioned that I have a
GeForce graphics card when it asked me if I wanted to run in safe mode. I
actually have an ATI Radeon X1050 graphics card. I keep updating to the newest
release to see if the latest improvements to wine will make it work properly.

This is the white boxes on the main menu.

This has happened on every version of wine I have used. I was also getting
this: fixme:d3d:process_vertices_strided Didn't expect the destination to have
a normal

This is confirmed also to happen in a the full 1.07 version under wine 1.1 and
1.63

There is no Wine 0.63.

Works fine for me (see the screenshot). I used the demo from the given link. I
have a NVIDIA GEFORCE 7600go with the latest drivers from the nvidia site

Could you give grpahic card/driver version/distro?

Ah, Another error, I meant wine 0.9.61

BTW, i'm using the lastest ArchLinux package now:

wine-1.1.0-2-i686.pkg.tar.gz

I'm using the intel driver and I've got an intel 845G integrated graphics
system...

My screen looks just like the one from the bug reporter.

Sounds like a driver bug to me. Works fine in 1.1.12 on my Geforce
9600GT/driver 180.22
