Bug #: 29255 Summary: Microsoft Office 2003, 2007 & 2010 applications do not print OTF Product: Wine Version: 1.3.34 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: gunwald@gmx.de Classification: Unclassified
Created attachment 37835 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=37835 Document showing that OTF printing does not work
All Microsoft Office applications form 2003 to 2010 are not able to print documents using any OTF (Open Type Font). Printing a Document using any OTF leads in a completely blank page. I think, this is an important bug, because printing is a main function of any office application. This bug may be related to bug 25515 (http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25515). I did attach an document to demonstrate the bug.

--- Comment #1 from Rosanne DiMesio dimesio@earthlink.net 2011-12-06 20:04:38 CST --- The test document won't demonstrate anything unless you have Adobe Garamond Pro (an otf font) installed; if you don't, Wine will just substitute Microsoft's Garamond (a ttf font) for it.
But I can confirm that actual OTF fonts do not print.

--- Comment #5 from Ken Sharp imwellcushtymelike@gmail.com --- Is this still an issue in Wine 1.7.45 or later?

--- Comment #6 from Nikolay Sivov bunglehead@gmail.com --- Does this font render at all? When used in wordpad for example.

--- Comment #7 from Rosanne DiMesio dimesio@earthlink.net --- OTF fonts render onscreen, both in the edit window and in print preview, but don't print. Tested in Word 2007, 1.7.46. The OTF font I tested with this time was http://www.fontslog.com/download.php?image_id=37571.
As for Wordpad, it can't actually print anything regardless of font (bug 25523). OTF fonts do render in the edit window, but not in print preview.

--- Comment #8 from Bernhard Übelacker bernhardu@mailbox.org --- While confirming the crash from bug #49527 is fixed, I found the resulting printout to cups-pdf did not contain the text.
With Word 2003 it produced a PDF with the text formatted with a TTF font showing up, the text formatted with the OTF font is missing.
This seems to be easiest reproducible by changing the font in Notepad and trying to print from there.
Word and Notepad showing some of following probably related lines: fixme:psdrv:get_glyf_pos CFF tables not supported yet fixme:psdrv:get_glyph_name PostScript Format 3.0 glyph names are currently unsupported.
