As far as I know, the winefile window has never refreshed properly (see the
screenshot). I have used wine 1.1.11, 1.1.38, and 1.1.43, bug is present in all
these.

32-bit linux, radeon 6.13, Mesa 7.8, Xorg 1.7.6

Looks like background of MDI app is not properly refreshed.
