--- Comment #1 from WindowsHater gaab_rs@hotmail.com 2008-09-29 19:55:57 --- I've installed: - ffdshow - msxml3

--- Comment #4 from WindowsHater gaab_rs@hotmail.com 2008-09-30 16:55:36 --- Also, when you play a file the player gets black and it crashes after some seconds and after some minutes your whole system crashes.
Maybe a direct3d problem, something like that, I'm not a pro.

--- Comment #5 from Lei Zhang thestig@google.com 2008-09-30 16:58:02 --- If your system is crashing, then you probably have buggy graphics drivers.

--- Comment #6 from WindowsHater gaab_rs@hotmail.com 2008-10-01 12:22:40 --- No. I don't think so. Watching videos and playing games are not a problem on my computer.
Could you test it, please? ;)

Wine cannot crash X, unless you're running as root. Just because native programs don't crash X doesn't mean Wine is the problem. The problem is buggy drivers that Wine is triggering the crash in.

--- Comment #8 from Lei Zhang thestig@google.com 2008-10-01 17:32:29 --- Worked fine here with today's wine-git. I started with a clean .wine directory, downloaded DivXInstaller.exe (md5sum 5e57c489541f8596c5b45a9aded9e7a5). Installed only that, no msxml3 or ffdshow.
You have to run "Divx Player.exe" with the full path. I opened a 10 second divx clip (can't upload, copyrighted material) and it played. The video messed up the UI, but displayed just fine.
