He mentions that this problem also affects bug 4334 and
bug 4664.

I took the test from his patch, added in ideas from every fix
for this I've seen, and submitted it as
http://winehq.org/pipermail/wine-patches/2008-February/050832.html

This fixes the dib.exe test case from #17 as well
as WinMerge.  I can't get FoxIT 2.0 to crash, shrug.
