CPU Usage on my 2.4ghz P4 is around 20% and my laptop that it's using 100% of one core is a core2duo 2.8ghz.

In my case, it's probably due to poor drivers.
CPU utilisation is fairly high in Windows too, where the drivers are better.
Have you tried updating your drivers?

I also get "hardware acceleration can not ben enabled on your system" "your video card does not meet minimum requirements for this game"
on my piece of crap p4 2.4 ghz machine cpu usage is around 18-20% and on my machine mentioned above I'm constantly above 30%
It seems that this is getting better though. It's not 100% of one core anymore.
