--- Comment #1 from Chris chrisneilbrown@gmail.com 2010-05-10 19:51:00 --- Same problem happens in 2.6 as well I played for about 10 minuets as a terran defender and it didnt happen When I play as a humble merchant it normally happens after the second save I've played on VirtualBox and it never happens I've used the save game from virtualbox to load on wine and the same thing happens It will quit normally back to the main menu before it stuffs up If I quit after, I get the message "File not found(x3intro)"

--- Comment #2 from Chris chrisneilbrown@gmail.com 2010-05-10 20:58:57 --- Created an attachment (id=27872) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=27872) Possibly where it stops working
I ran the program with this command WINEDEBUG=fixme-all,-ole,+file wine X3TC.exe It seems to stop working properly after loading the soundtrack...

--- Comment #3 from Chris chrisneilbrown@gmail.com 2010-05-11 07:03:17 --- It's unrelated to saving it appears to be doing something in the mov/00002.dat file and eventually just cracks it If I fly away from everything it stops probing the mov/00002.dat file until I fly in closer again where it continues until it stops working random dialogs dont show any more and when I dock all the text turns in readtext as in the example

* It's recommended not to touch the version field, just make a note here * Is there some version, which runs OK? AppDB does't mention such problems * Make a link between you bug report and AppDB next time please

I've tried every version of wine from 1.1.38-1.1.43 with X3TC 2.5 I've tried X3TC 2.6 on 1.1.43-1.1.44 All with the same problem exact same problem For some unknown reason it has stopped again

it appears to be doing something in the mov/00002.dat file and eventually just cracks it
Remember those billboards with fictional in-game advertising? That's it, 00002.dat contains this advertising. It looks like Direct3D problem with placing video on shapes.
I suggest that you remove 00002.dat completely. It only contains ads and X3: Reunion leftover videos anyway.

Seems to improve the situation considerably. Is the video-on-shape issue a known issue?

--- Comment #14 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2013-11-13 16:51:10 CST --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for 2 years. Is this still an issue in current (1.7.6 or newer) wine? If so, please attach the terminal output in 1.7.6 (see http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log).
